For the record there is no such thing as a Accutron 214 "Canadian" anything and no Bulova documentation exists to suggest otherwise! So to the people who use that incorrect term please give it a rest already...
The first two watches and the last watch below are Swiss made watches made in Switzerland and intended for the European market, Enough with the whole "Canadian Dress" nonsense, There is nothing Canadian about this watch and the fact is no documentation has ever been found to indicate there ever was anything Canadian about this watch yet for some unknown reason some people have latched onto the term "Canadian Dress" when talking about this SWISS MADE Accutron watch???
The same people will argue that these watches are somehow linked Canadian railroad but if that was true (which nothing has ever been found to support that) then how are the Swiss watches like the watch below explained which are identical to the watch above with "Railroad Approved" omitted from the dial??? The watch below can't be linked to the Canadian railroad because it's not approved for railroad use and it has a non-hacking movement?
There is a USA made version of the watch shown above with the same dial only the dial isn't "Swiss" signed and the USA made version is not a chapter ring model...
This watch below is a 1974 USA made Accutron 214 with the blue inner ring and is not approved for railroad use so how could it be "Canadian" anything? it's not...
But Bulova USA also made "Railroad Approved" models such as this 1962 USA made Accutron 214H Railroad Approved watch...
Or this Very Rare 1965 USA made Accutron 214H Double Hour Hand Railroad Approved with a 24 Hour Double Ring Dial...
The Swiss also made their version of the Double Hour Hand 24 Hour Double Ring Dial watch with this Very Rare 1967 Swiss Made Accutron 214H Railroad Approved watch...
So as you can see the two colors red and blue used for the inner ring was used by both Bulova USA and Bulova Swiss so the color used has no bearing on anything to do with "Canadian"...
And finally here is the Swiss made "Railroad Approved" watch along side the Swiss made Accutron Astronaut in a French Bulova catalog which translates to say...
"Bulova Accutron Model "Railroad" waterproof steel specially designed for railroaders its popularity is due to the excellent legibility of the dial"
There is no mention of anything "Canadian" in this Bulova catalog and this is the only known Bulova documentation with this watch in it!
Again those are Swiss made watches made in Switzerland and intended for the European market and are no more "Canadian" then any other Accutron 214, FACT!
